I know this sounds like a potentially boring post, but I LOVE my gloves and couldn't quilt without them. I just bought a new pair today and am going to retire my old ones.... can you see why?
I have been using these for my entire quilt-life (4.5 years!) I haven't kept track, but I would estimate that I have done over 250 quilts/wallhangings/tablerunners in that time. They have served me well.
The only drawback is that sometimes my hands get hot. The worn out finger hole did give me some ventilation, but the grime and grossness was just too much! Don't worry - I'll give them a proper burial.
These are my NEW gloves. Fons & Porter Machine Quilting Grip Gloves. And they were only $3.49 at Quilts N More in Slaten, TX. The funny thing is that Susan says she uses garden gloves that look just like them.

I love the color of your new gloves!
Classy looking! You did NEED a new pair, so I'm glad you splurged! Haha!
Ahh... the secrets of a successful quilter!
I have the SAME gloves! (from JoAnns)... I knew we were sisters.
Yeah, no one can say you spend all your money on quilting gloves. One pair in 4 1/2 years.....and the replacements were only $3.50???? Less than a latte!!! Great deal.
yes.. i have several pair of the garden gloves too!.....your new ones are very colorful.....and already being used i see..
ooh, you're quilting your christmas redwork... can't wait to see it!!
Call me totally quilt naive...why do you need gloves to quilt?
I really want to join your club. Is there just a membership fee I can pay, because I'm not sure I've got the time to learn to quilt.
Cally,
We use rubber-tipped gloves to help move the fabric as we are quilting it. We are not a formal club - just a bunch of friends that love to quilt and blog!
